Summary:
Steven R. Ridenour, Sr., holds more than 35 years of experience as a drilling fluids engineer. He started his career in the drilling fluids industry in February 1978 when he joined IMCO Services. Since then he moved through the ranks serving in management capacities with Southwestern Drilling Mud, Inc. and Drilling Mud, Inc. before starting and operating Matex Drilling Mud, Inc. in 1981.


Steve Ridenour started consulting in 1986 providing only top quality drilling fluids engineering service to Newpark Drilling Fluids, Spirit Drilling Fluids, Baroid, Baker Hughes/Inteq, M-I Drilling Fluids, as well as several independent mud companies.  His experience ranges in all types of water-based, oil-based, and synthetic-based drilling fluids, and wells with depths to 20,000' and mud weights up to 18.8 ppg, and in areas covering South Texas, Central Texas, East Texas, and Louisiana.  He is currently working with Carrizo Oil & Gas and Newpark Drilling Fluids drilling horizontal wells to 20,000’ in Eagle Ford Shale areas in Southwest Texas.

Self employed Drilling Fluids Consultant providing drilling fluids engineering services to drilling fluid chemical companies throughout the South, Central, and East Texas area on vertical and horizontal wells to depths of 18,500 feet and mud weights of 18.8 ppg.  Engineered all types of water-based and oil-based drilling fluid systems.  Researched and prepared drilling mud programs.

While continuing to handle my mud engineering duties, I worked closely with and assisted Abaco Operating drilling consultant, Lee McNiel, handling day to day drilling operations based on operators drilling program and specifications. Completed morning & daily reports. Helped to coordinate job schedules and needs with general contractors, service companies & suppliers to ensure a smooth operation of the project.

CEO/President of BoJac Companies, Inc.  General contractor involved in designing and building new homes, remodeling and additions of existing homes in and around the San Patricio, Bee, and Jim Wells county areas.  Purchased and developed real estate. Sold company in 1985.
